trauma and ptsd recovery

Most of us associate Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with veterans or first responders who have been in combat or experienced violence. However, PTSD is not limited to military or law enforcement. It’s common to experience PTSD after sexual or physical abuse, divorce, sudden death, or even bullying. Symptoms are wide ranging and can include anxiety, depression, flashbacks, nightmares, or tension.

anxiety

Most of us have dealt with situational nervousness and stress at some point in our lives. Anxiety is different though – it can feel absolutely debilitating, from intrusive thoughts of worry or dread, restlessness or insomnia, panic attacks, and tension. Therapy can give us tools to help calm the nervous system and mind.

relationship issues

Relationships can be hard. There, I said it. Maybe you’re finding yourself arguing with your partner more than you’d like, or maybe you’re feeling disconnected and you don’t know why. Oftentimes, we don’t have the proper tools we need to maintain a healthy and thriving relationship after they honeymoon phase wears off. Therapy can help you uncover relational patterns that may be wrecking havoc so that you can learn how to be a healthier individual and partner.
